This new entry in the event highlighted a competition that wasn’t easily found in the other categories, with many drivers closed in few seconds ‘margin of time. It was appreciated the participation of Emanuele Pirro who made Pole Position at the wheel of a Martini, the car that took part in the 1981 Italian championship. At the race start the Italian held the lead and passed his rivals, with Hein second, after him Faggionato in Ralt RT3, Leone in March 783 and Savoye still in Ralt: the race lived on the duel of these four drivers. Faggionato got rid of the rival already on the first lap with a good overtaking on his coming out of the tunnel, while Leone needed three laps and an overtaking at the Piscine to gain a temporary third place. Also Savoye passed Hein but on the next lap the two drivers had a collision on Fairmont bend with the Monegasque forced to retire, imitated by Leone who at lap five was upset by a lap on the hill of Ostende. All these dropouts favoured Colasacco who, with a successful final overtaking on Mirabeau, passed Savoye taking the third podium step.
