Formula 3 cars (1971-1984)
Formula 3 1000 cc cars offered a good performance thanks to the competition among numerous drivers. From the tests we have been watching a fight on the hundredths of second, with Hein who made Pole in his Brabham BT28 with only six tenths of second’s lead over the four classified. Unfortunately, on Sunday the Monegasque driver saw his chance of success already fade during the reconnaissance lap, when the engine of his car blew up in the tunnel. The race was decided on the start with Traber in Brabham BT21 who started better than the others taking the lead of the race ahead of French Derossi who managed in vain to pass him on every bend for all 19 laps of the race. McMorran was classified third in his Crossle 17F.
